A productive information session regarding the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Vocational Education and Training (CBVET) program was held in Namibia on 31 March 2025. This collaborative engagement brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Namibia Training Authority, the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, esteemed TVET experts, and valued alumni of previous Erasmus+ CBVET projects.
The session facilitated a comprehensive exchange of knowledge, commencing with an overview of the role and objectives of the ENFP (presumably the Erasmus+ National Focal Point). Participants gained valuable insights into the intricacies of the CBVET program through a detailed presentation delivered by the ENFP from South Africa. This presentation elucidated the budgetary framework of CBVET and provided clear guidance on the project application process.
Furthermore, the ENFP from Lesotho offered practical strategies and methodologies for effectively identifying and engaging potential project partners. To enhance the participants' capacity to develop successful proposals, insightful tips and tricks on proposal writing were also shared.
Adding a practical dimension to the session, Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) Namibia presented their experiences, highlighting their contributions to strengthening Namibia's Agricultural Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) providers through the introduction of two additional agricultural qualifications projects. This experience-sharing segment offered valuable lessons and inspiration for future endeavors.
Looking ahead, the participants demonstrated a strong commitment to leveraging the opportunities presented by the Erasmus+ CBVET program. To this end, a consensus was reached to establish a Technical Working Group (TWG). This collaborative body will commence with a proposal brainstorming process in anticipation of the upcoming call for proposals scheduled for November 2025, signifying a proactive step towards developing impactful projects.
