(January 2025) The Opportunities Fair 2022 took place at the María Elida Marquizo Cultural Center in Rocha, Uruguay. From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., more than 80 participants, including students and educators from local institutions, gathered for an event aimed at fostering collaboration and showcasing international opportunities.
The fair was organized by the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI), with the support and coordination of Rocha’s municipal government through its Division of Projects, Training, Artisanal Production, and International Cooperation.
A Collaborative Space for International Opportunities
Several prominent organizations and embassies were represented, including:
- Embassies of the United States, Canada, Brazil, and France
- The Fulbright Commission Uruguay
- The Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB)
- Chamangá Foundation
- AUCI Scholarships
- The Organization of American States (OAS)
- Erasmus+ (European Union Program in collaboration with AUCI)
The event offered students, educators, and attendees the chance to explore scholarship opportunities, exchange programs, and other resources to advance their academic and professional aspirations.
Spotlight on Erasmus+ Opportunities
One of the highlights of the fair was a presentation by Alejandro Quinteros, the Erasmus+ program focal point. He introduced participants to the wide range of opportunities offered by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, with a particular emphasis on Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degrees. Alejandro explained the application process, eligibility criteria, and benefits of participating in this prestigious initiative, inspiring attendees to consider pursuing studies abroad.
