The Erasmus+ program, recognized globally for its transformative impact on higher education, continues to expand its outreach in Latin America. Key Attendees and Their Roles:

- European Union Representatives: Leaders working tirelessly to build and enhance educational bridges between Europe and Latin America.

- Jorge Umaña Vargas: Manager of the Scholarship Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the newly appointed Erasmus+ National Focal Point for Costa Rica.

The agenda of the meeting focused on one primary goal: devising joint strategies for broadening the dissemination and impact of the Erasmus+ program across Costa Rica. Recognizing the importance of education as a catalyst for development, this collaborative session was an opportunity to reflect on best practices, innovative outreach methods, and partnership models that ensure comprehensive awareness of Erasmus+ opportunities.

Discussion Highlights:

- Expanding Reach: Attendees brainstormed ways to connect with potential applicants in various regions, particularly targeting those who may not have traditionally had access to international educational opportunities.

- Joint Promotion Strategies: The team explored the possibility of leveraging both traditional media and digital platforms, including social media campaigns and webinars, to extend the reach of Erasmus+ promotional efforts.

- Community Engagement: Emphasis was placed on creating localized events to provide tailored information sessions, thus strengthening the understanding and appeal of the Erasmus+ program within diverse communities.

A Shared Vision:

The meeting underscored a shared commitment: fostering educational opportunities that empower Costa Rican students and professionals, connecting them with global networks of learning and innovation. This collaboration will pave the way for more inclusive, well-distributed, and effective communication strategies, ensuring that Erasmus+ becomes synonymous with opportunity and growth throughout the country.

As Costa Rica moves forward with Jorge Umaña Vargas at the helm of the Erasmus+ National Focal Point, there is renewed optimism that the program's reach will deepen and its benefits will touch more lives.
