Erasmus+ Info Session 2025 Strengthens EU-Thailand Higher Education Ties

On February 21, 2025, the Erasmus+ Info Session Day for Thailand successfully convened via Zoom, attracting over 300 participants, including higher education professionals, lecturers, and students from across Thailand. The event, organized by the Erasmus+ National Focal Point (ENFP) Thailand in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), aimed to promote awareness and disseminate comprehensive information on Erasmus+ scholarship and collaboration opportunities.

The session commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Luksamon Samansin, Director of International Affairs Division at MHESI, and Mr. Tom Corrie, Head of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation to Thailand. Both speakers emphasized the importance of strengthening academic cooperation between Thai and European institutions.

Mr. Saran Vajraphai, Director of the Global Human Capital Development Group at MHESI and Erasmus+ National Focal Point for Thailand, highlighted the pivotal role of ENFP in supporting institutions and individuals pursuing Erasmus+ opportunities.

Dr. Jenny Lind Elmaco, a Key Expert from the Centralized Support for Erasmus+ National Focal Points, provided an informative overview of Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE). This was complemented by sharing best practices by Assistant Professors Dr. Chutima Tantikitti (Prince of Songkla University) and Dr. Li Liang (Thammasat University), who presented successful CBHE projects.

Dr. Ashiqur Rahman, Regional Manager for Asia at the Centralised Support to the Network of Erasmus+ National Focal Points, detailed opportunities under Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) and Erasmus Mundus Design Measures (EMDM). Mr. Syed Raihan-Ul-Islam from Daffodil International University, Bangladesh, and Dr. Marc Cheng, Executive Director of the EU Centre in Taiwan, further enriched the session by discussing International Credit Mobility (ICM) and Jean Monnet Actions, respectively.

The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, followed by closing remarks from  Dr. Luksamon Samansin, emphasizing the continuous growth and cooperation between Thailand and the European Union in higher education. The event was moderated by Dr. Jantakan Jadklay, Auxiliary Erasmus+ National Focal Point, Thailand.
