The Erasmus+ Info Session for Mongolia was successfully held on November 6, 2024, at the National Information Technology Park. The event aimed to disseminate information about the Erasmus+ program, offering opportunities to universities and students.
This hybrid event brought together around 130 participants including professors, researchers, students, and representatives from various universities and organizations. The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Ms. Ina Marciulionyte, the Ambassador of the European Union to Mongolia, who officially opened the session. A special announcement was made during the event, appointing Dr. Khosbayar N., Head of the International Relations and Cooperation Office at Otgontenger University, as the Erasmus National Focal Point for Mongolia.
The event was also pleased to welcome Mr. Enkhbayar, Director of Foreign Relations at the Ministry of Education, as a distinguished guest.
The Erasmus+ Info Day was particularly notable for the participation of Erasmus+ Artest project partners. Prof. Dr. Øyvind Eide from the Institute for Digital Humanities at the University of Cologne, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cettina Santagati from the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University of Catania, were in attendance and shared valuable insights from their project experiences.
Researchers from Otgontenger University also presented their experiences. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Buyanjargal Andrai, Head of the Administration and Monitoring Office, discussed the Erasmus+ MONGWBL CBHE project, which is the first CBHE project coordinated by a Mongolian university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Odgerel Batsaikhan, Vice Director of Scientific and Academic Affairs, shared her insights on the "EUIF" Jean Monnet Module project.
In addition, Dr. Jenny Lind Elmaco, Key Expert/Academic Expert for Centralized Support of Erasmus+ National Focal Points at the European Commission, and Marc Chia-Ching Cheng, Executive Director of the European Union Centre in Taiwan and Erasmus+ National Focal Point for Taiwan, delivered detailed presentations on Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) and Erasmus Mundus Design Measures (EMDM), and Jean Monnet Actions accordingly, and provided valuable recommendations, which were greatly appreciated by the Mongolian participants.
Finally, Dr. Md Ashiqur Rahman, Regional Manager – Asia at the Centralized Support of Erasmus+ National Focal Points, concluded the event with insightful closing remarks, leaving participants inspired and motivated.
At the end of the event, participants raised several important questions regarding project submission opportunities and how to find partners. This underscored the need for future training seminars focused on identifying project partners and writing successful Erasmus+ proposals.
