EMJMD Cluster meeting 2018: European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes

Purpose of the Cluster Meeting

This Cluster meeting was the 3rd event organised for EMJMD coordinators under the Erasmus+ Programme following the Networking conference "Mastering Joint Excellence under Erasmus Mundus" in 2016 and the EMJMD Cluster meeting on "Sustainability and Employability" in 2017.

In line with the current policy priorities in the European Higher Education Area, the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes has been developed with the objective to ease external quality assurance. It has been adopted in April 2015 by the Ministers of Education from the European Higher Education Area in the Yerevan Communiqué. In particular the European Approach aims at dismantling obstacles to the development of joint programmes by setting standards for these programmes that are based on the agreed tools of the EHEA without applying additional national criteria. Moreover, the European Approach has the objective to facilitate integrated approaches to quality assurance of joint programmes that reflect their joint character.

The event brought together EMJMD consortia in order to network with other projects and practitioners, exchange expertise, lessons learned and best practices.

The 2-days Cluster meeting combined plenary sessions (e.g. testimonials from resource persons), interactive thematic workshops, practical hands-on sessions, structured networking activities and a specific "Helpdesk", where coordinators worked together with practitioners on their concrete challenges. Moreover, the event was the occasion for EMJMDs to meet their EACEA project officers.
