The European Commission’s President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver her fifth State of the European Union (SOTEU) address this Wednesday, 10 September 2025 from 09:00 to 12:00 (Brussels time), at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The SOTEU address sets out the President's vision and major initiatives for the year ahead, marking an important moment to shape the European Union's direction.
It is quite likely that Erasmus+ will be mentioned at some point, given that negotiations between the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union will start soon to finalise the Erasmus+ programme for 2028 to 2034.
