The Erasmus+ Info Session for South Sudan was conducted at the University of Juba on 12 March. Here are some quotes from the dignitaries who attended:
"We have been trying and trying to engage the Europeans on how to transform our critical sectors - education and health sectors. If you help us build the capacity, give youngsters the opportunity to learn in Europe, then you create the leaders of the future who will know your countries and cultures, and who you can work with in the future. [To the South Sudan HEIs] You do not need to reinvent the wheel - benefit from what others have done before. Make excellent exchange programmes for students and staff between European universities. "
- Hon. Gabriel Changson Chang - Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Republic of South Sudan:
"Sharing knowledge, creating bonds, increasing the capacity of your educational institutions, all contribute to the building of the foundations of tomorrow, and the building of peace. We want you to succeed - your success is our success." - Lothar Jaschke, EUD Deputy Chief of Mission
Congratulations to the Erasmus+ National Focal Points for South Sudan, James Obwonyo and Animu A. Risasi for the successful gathering!
