What is the Western Balkans Alumni Association?
WBAA is a regional alumni network connecting people from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo* and Serbia who have completed part of their studies abroad.
Who can join WBAA?
WBAA is open to alumni from the Western Balkans who studied abroad in EU Member States or Erasmus+ associated countries. This includes alumni supported by EU or national scholarships, as well as those who were self-funded.
What is WBAA’s main focus?
WBAA focuses on building a strong regional alumni community, promoting mobility opportunities, strengthening employability, supporting young people and contributing to the modernisation of higher education systems in the Western Balkans.
What kind of activities does WBAA organise?
WBAA organises regional and national events, expert sessions, training activities and member-led projects. It also supports members in designing and delivering their own initiatives.
How is WBAA structured?
WBAA has a formal organisational structure that includes National Chapters, a Regional Board, thematic teams and an Advisory Council. The association operates in line with its Statute, Internal Rules and Regulations, and Code of Conduct.
Does WBAA work with partners?
Yes. WBAA collaborates with a wide range of partners, including public institutions, education bodies, alumni associations, companies and civil society organisations. Partnerships can be established through individual projects or longer-term agreements.
How do I become a WBAA member?
To join WBAA, register using your email on the WBAA Community Portal. You will need to provide proof of your mobility, such as an invitation letter, learning agreement or scholarship letter. Once your eligibility is verified, you will receive a confirmation email and can complete your profile.
Who is eligible to join WBAA?
Eligibility requirements are:
Citizenship of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, North Macedonia, Montenegro, or Serbia
Participation in academic or staff mobility in an Erasmus+ programme country
Mobility funded by the Erasmus+ programme

When registering, you will be asked to provide proof of your mobility, such as an invitation letter, learning agreement or scholarship confirmation.
