The OCEANS Annual General Meeting 2026 brought together OCEANS network members, alumni and partners in Zagreb and online on 24 July to reflect on the network's achievements, discuss future priorities and strengthen collaboration across the OCEANS community. The event combined strategic discussions, interactive workshops and networking opportunities, providing a platform for members to contribute to OCEANS continued development and impact.
Driving OCEANS forward
The AGM featured updates on ESAA activities planned for 2026, discussions on OCEANS governance and future developments, and reflections on the network's growth over the years. Held in a hybrid format in Zagreb, Croatia, and online, the meeting enabled members to attend both in-person and remotely, with sessions livestreamed throughout the day. Participants explored ways to strengthen the organisation, enhance member engagement and ensure OCEANS continues to support and connect Erasmus+ alumni worldwide.
Co-creating priorities and opportunities
Through six interactive breakout sessions, more than 40 participants exchanged ideas on key topics and developed recommendations to help guide OCEANS’ future work and strategic direction. The morning sessions focused on strengthening OCEANS identity through branding and storytelling, operationalising the Advisory Board within the network’s governance structures and building a sustainable approach to partnerships. The afternoon sessions explored the co-creation of new OCEANS activities and events, improving clarity and transparency in OCEANS governance, as well as identifying sustainable funding strategies aligned with the Erasmus+ and other relevant frameworks.
Celebrating impact and strengthening connections
The programme highlighted the impact of Erasmus+ alumni projects and showcased best practices from across the community. It also included an update on the OCEANS website and its integration into the Erasmus+ International Student and Alumni Networks Platform, highlighting the network's strengthened digital presence and interconnection with other networks.
The day concluded with networking activities and an intercultural evening, celebrating the elements that make the OCEANS network a vibrant and diverse global community.
