The Western Balkans Alumni Association (WBAA) is a regional network connecting alumni from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. It brings together people who studied abroad through Erasmus+ or other mobility programmes, creating a strong regional community that supports personal and professional growth.

*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status and is in line with UNSCR 1244/1999 and the ICJ opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.

Vision and mission

WBAA aims to empower young people in the Western Balkans through mobility, cooperation and skill‑building.

History

WBAA was launched in March 2018, following the EU’s Western Balkans Platform on Education and Training. It has grown steadily through General Assemblies, regional events and member‑led projects. Today, WBAA unites key actors working to support mobility and education across the region.

Statute and rules of procedure

The WBAA Statute is the foundational legal document of the organisation, defining the mission, principles, governance structures, membership rules, bodies, and procedures.

The WBAA Internal Rules and Regulations define how the organisation functions internally by establishing the internal procedures for meetings, elections and voting mechanisms. All the provisions of the Internal Rules and Regulations are formulated in accordance with the Statute.
