About OCEANS

Jonathan Lear • 12 February 2026

The Organisation for Cooperation, Exchange and Networking (OCEANS) is part of the Erasmus+ Student and Alumni Alliance (ESAA) and is a global community of students and alumni who have participated in international credit mobility between Erasmus+ and partner-country universities. It is open to anyone with this mobility experience, free to join, and volunteer-led with EU support.

Vision and mission

The network aims to strengthen global cooperation, intercultural exchange, and professional development.

History

OCEANS grew as part of the Erasmus+ credit mobility partnerships with universities across the world. Its purpose is to connect people involved in international exchange and support their personal and professional growth.

Statute and rules of procedure

The OCEANS Statute is the foundational legal document of the organisation, defining the mission, principles, governance structures, membership rules, bodies, and procedures.

The OCEANS Rules of Procedure define how the organisation functions internally by establishing the internal procedures for meetings, elections and voting mechanisms. All the provisions of the Rules of Procedure are formulated in accordance with the Statute.
