In September 2024, the African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF) met in Cotonou, Benin, for its Board Meeting, Annual General Forum (AGF) and public conference, bringing together members, governance bodies and partner networks to review progress and set priorities for the year ahead.
Strengthening continuity and collaboration within ASAF
The ASAF AGF underscored ASAF’s commitment to continuity, collaboration and member‑driven action, and reaffirmed ASAF’s role as a dynamic platform for exchange, leadership and cooperation.
The AGF officially opened with ASAF’s 3rd Annual Public Conference on 6 September 2024 at the University of Abomey‑Calavi. Discussions placed ASAF’s work within the wider context of Africa–EU cooperation, higher education and youth mobility, bringing together ASAF representatives, institutional stakeholders and partner organisations.
From exchange to action: setting the way forward
AGF activities continued on 7 September with the Meeting of Members, where participants reviewed ASAF’s structure, recent achievements and future direction, including the new Erasmus+ Service Support framework. Parallel AGORA sessions provided space for Committees, Task Forces and Co‑Ambassadors to shape their plans and strengthen member
Contributions from other EU‑funded alumni networks enriched the exchange, and the forum concluded with a cultural dinner celebrating diversity, commitment and shared purpose within the ASAF community.
