Uganda

Silver Odongo – Uganda

Silver’s main background is in Chemistry. He received his BSc (Education) degree with a Chemistry major in 2017 from Makerere University in Uganda and later pursued a Master of Science in Chemistry from the same institution.

During his master’s degree, he attended a research fellowship at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Ås, Norway, where he completed a course on Water Management Technologies in Cold Climates, supported by the Norwegian Government through the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation.

In 2022, Silver received financial support from the EU through the Erasmus+ student mobility programme, enabling him to attend a three-month exchange programme at the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia.

As an early career researcher, Silver currently volunteers as a teaching assistant and research assistant at the Department of Chemistry, Makerere University. He also works as a Laboratory Supervisor at the Bioequivalence and Medicines Analysis Center (BEMA‑UG) in Uganda.


United Kingdom

Scott Darby – United Kingdom

Scott graduated from the University of Wales, Bangor with a degree in Environmental Science. He later worked in the health service before pursuing a master's degree in Arid Land Studies.

During his master's degree, he spent one year at Texas Tech University in the United States, thanks to a grant from the European Union.

Scott has been an active member of OCEANS for many years and considers it a privilege to represent the network at national level. He is passionate about helping young people and values being able to continue doing so through his role as National Representative.


United States

Battinè Narendra – United States (East)

Battinè is a National Representative for USA East and has been part of the OCEANS Network since 2018. He has been involved in various OCEANS activities and initiatives.

His professional experience includes working at the World Bank, where he gained extensive experience in areas critical to the organisation’s mission. He is currently based in the United States, in the Washington DC area.

Mohammed Albataineh – United States (West)

Mohammed Albataineh is the National Representative for USA West. He graduated from Yarmouk University, Jordan, with a degree in Hotel Management and completed his Erasmus+ mobility at the Business School of the Universidade do Algarve in Portugal.

His passion for the culinary arts led him to become a five‑star hotel chef in Arizona, USA. He has been part of OCEANS since 2021 and works to strengthen exchange visitor programmes and international partnerships as drivers of global cooperation and societal progress.


Zambia

Misheck Samakao – Zambia

Misheck is a lecturer, researcher and consultant in Human Resources, Management, Leadership and Governance. His interests include behavioural sciences and applied research.

He undertook his mobility studies at León University in Spain during the 2016/2017 academic year, where he completed his master’s degree in Personnel and Labour Practice studies.

Misheck is enthusiastic, multicultural, social, passionate and self‑motivated. He enjoys networking, collaboration and teamwork, and expresses his gratitude to the European Commission for the vision behind the OCEANS Network.
