Albania
Aleksandra Saraçaj – Albania
Aleksandra has been part of OCEANS since her Erasmus Exchange Mobility in Istanbul, Turkiye in 2022. She graduated from the University of Elbasan, “Aleksandër Xhuvani”, with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance, and is now pursuing her master’s degree in Accounting and Auditing.
As she has been an active member of OCEANS, she is now the National Representative of her country, Albania.
Azerbaijan
Mir Murad – Azerbaijan
Following his Erasmus+ mobility programme in Remagen, Germany in 2021, Murad took on the role of OCEANS Network representative. Back then, he was pursuing his master's degree and secured an internship at Koblenz University in Applied Sciences.
His background is in economics and he holds a bachelor's degree from National Transport University, Kyiv, and an MBA from Azerbaijan University alongside his Erasmus+ Mobility at Koblenz University in Applied Sciences.
Murad now serves as a lecturer at Western Caspian University in Baku, Azerbaijan where he excels in mentoring students in the fields of tourism and marketing. He has also actively participated in several European Volunteering initiatives and engaged with various youth political organisations within the EU.
Belgium
Leila Benabdallah – Belgium
Following studies and professional experiences in Türkiye, UAE and the UK, Leïla currently works in Belgium where she is the country’s OCEANS representative.
She received a Bachelor in Management of Sciences and Technologies from the University of Montpellier, France, after a year spent in Erasmus+ exchange at Galatasaray University in Istanbul, Türkiye.
After that, she obtained a master’s degree in Management of Social Development and another in International Management of SMEs. Passionate about international cooperation, she believes that mobility is essential to increase mutual understanding, develop our skills and widen our vision.
Brazil
Luan Michel Monteiro Araujo – Brazil
Luan has a degree in Journalism from Universidade Paulista (UNIP). He did his Erasmus+ at Zagreb School of Business in Croatia.
He has been working in journalism since 2020 and today he is editor-in-chief of one of the biggest newspapers in Brazil. He currently writes for two other newspapers around the world, in addition to being a special reporter for another publication in Brazil.
Passionate about communication and information, he also participates in the OCEANS Network communication team.
Cameroon
Manga Bengono Dominique Martial – Cameroon
Dominique is a high school teacher of technical education in carpentry and cabinetmaking at the Edea Technical High School, Cameroon. He is a third-year (D3) PhD student in Engineering Sciences, specialising in Materials and Mechanics of Wood, at the Doctoral School of Fundamental and Applied Sciences of the University of Douala, Cameroon.
His field of research is Wood Sciences, in particular the hygroscopic behaviour of wood (drying and use). He is the leader of several national associations, a lover of tourism, dance and sport – especially football.
Ethiopia
Wallelign Zelalem Getie – Ethiopia
Wallelign received his undergraduate degree in Civic and Ethical Education and later pursued his master's degree in Peace and Conflict studies, both from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia.
From October 2013 to September 2021, he was a lecturer at Debre Markos University and actively engaged in both research and teaching.
Currently, Wallelign is a PhD candidate in Global Studies with a focus on Peace and Security in Africa, a joint programme offered by Addis Ababa University and the University of Leipzig, Germany.
During his doctoral class, he has been an exchange student in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme at the University of Leipzig, funded by the European Commission.
Ghana
Nana Kwame Nkrumah – Ghana
Nana is a PhD candidate in International Affairs at the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD), University of Ghana, Legon.
Nana intends to promote the activities of OCEANS to students and the general public in Ghana, as well as liaise with students who have taken part in Erasmus+ Mobility to organise programmes that will foster friendliness and cooperation between the EU and Ghana.
