We are thrilled to introduce Haidy Lindveld, a dedicated and passionate advocate for education in Suriname.
Serving as the Erasmus+ National Focal Point, Haidy is the Director of Higher and Scientific Education (HWO) within the Ministry of Education. With over 29 years of rich professional experience in pedagogy, didactics, education management, policy development, and strategic planning, her commitment to enhancing educational opportunities truly reflects her caring spirit and vision for a brighter future for students and educators alike.
Since December 2025, Ms. Lindveld has been responsible for the Directorate of Higher and Scientific Education, where she oversees matters related to the quality, accessibility, and strategic development of higher education in Suriname. Her work includes policy implementation, quality assurance, and coordination with national and international stakeholders.
On a regional level, Ms. Lindveld serves as the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Focal Point for Standards in the Teaching Profession.
Ms. Lindveld holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and has completed professional training in strategic leadership, academic quality assurance, and project-based working. She has also participated in international seminars and study visits related to education policy and governance, including the Inter-American Exchange Seminar on Democratic Participation in Educational Settings.
Through her national and regional responsibilities, Ms. Lindveld contributes to the development of higher education and international cooperation in Suriname.
As the Erasmus+ National Focal Point, Ms. Lindveld will lead the promotion of Erasmus+ international academic collaboration and mobility opportunities in Suriname.
