The Regional Erasmus+ Cluster Meeting and Contact-Making Seminar 2026 for Sub-Saharan Africa took place in Dakar, Senegal, on 19 and 20 May 2026, and was also available to participate in online.
The event was part of the Regional Erasmus+ Week for Sub-Saharan Africa, organised by the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) of the European Commission and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
Cluster Meeting
The meeting gathered higher education plus vocational education and training institutions from Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, already active in the Erasmus+ programme or potentially interested in developing cooperation under this scheme. Participants were joined by stakeholders involved in the implementation and promotion of the Erasmus+ programme, such as the Sub-Saharan African Erasmus+ National Focal Points, Erasmus+ National Agencies, European Union Delegations in the region, the European Commission and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency.
This year’s event addressed the role of Erasmus+ in Developing Skills for the Future. The cluster meeting gave opportunities to showcase successful Erasmus+ mobility and cooperation projects, linking European and Sub-Saharan African education institutions, and focusing on the transversal programme priority “Sustainable growth and jobs”.
Contact-making sessions
Online and in-situ speed-networking sessions enabled participants to meet and engage with each other, with a view to forming project partnerships. Over 150 speed-networking meetings took place online.
