How can Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s (EMJM) programmes strengthen their financial sustainability, enhance student recruitment and marketing, and deepen industry and labour market engagement?

These are the key questions currently being explored in the context of the Erasmus Mundus Peer Mentoring Scheme launched by the European Commission’s Erasmus Mundus Support Initiative (EMSI). Running from March to June 2026, the initiative brings together members of the Erasmus Mundus community in a structured, peer-driven exchange to share experiences, discuss common challenges, and identify practical solutions for implementing and sustaining EMJM programmes.

Developed following a Call for Topics in which 59 community members identified their priority discussion areas, and a subsequent Call for Participation, the scheme is structured based on three online groups:

  • Financial sustainability of EMJM programmes;
  • Student recruitment and marketing;
  • Industry and labour market engagement.

Each group, chaired by a Erasmus Mundus community member and facilitated by EMSI, comprises thematic online discussions which are followed by a dedicated Q&A session in which EACEA staff responds to questions regarding EMJM project regulation.

The minutes from the peer mentoring sessions held so far are now available and provide valuable insights, practical reflections, and an insight into good practices from across the Erasmus Mundus community.
